練り込みとは、異なる色の粘土を重ねたり、混ぜたり、丁寧に組み合わせたりして、粘土そのものに美しい模様を作る技法です。表面に絵を描くのとは異なり、粘土の中に模様が作られるため、盃の内側にも外側にも同じ模様が現れます。

非常に高度な技術と根気、正確さが必要な難しい技法です。

村田彩さんは自然の美しさに憧れ、熱帯雨林に実在しそうな花や動物をモチーフに、独創的な作品を制作しています。

This unique lizard-shaped sake cup is created by artist Aya Murata using a traditional Japanese ceramic technique called Nerikomi.

Nerikomi is a special technique in which different colors of clay are layered, mixed, and carefully combined to create beautiful patterns within the clay itself. Unlike painting patterns onto the surface, the designs are embedded throughout the clay. This allows the same patterns to appear on both the inside and outside of the cup.

It is a highly challenging technique that requires great skill, patience, and precision.
